“Superb sympathetic restoration of an ancient Umbrian village. The property has been hauled into the twenty first century but has not lost any of its former charms including original frescoes in the mediaeval chapel. Come here for total relaxation combined with luxury and sophistication.”

Hotel Review

The Castello di Postignano is an Umbrian Borgo with origins which can be traced back as far as the 9th century. Over the past few years it has been lovingly and painstaking restored, bringing the village kicking and screaming into the 21st century, yet without compromising its historic roots. Many period features have been retained and the original frescoes in the mediaeval chapel are a fabulous backdrop to the numerous cultural events that it hosts over the summer months. Suites are traditionally and tastefully furnished. All offer either one or two rooms, so are ideal for families. It's a great spot for simply enjoying some rest and relaxation - the views are fabulous. Or if you have the energy, the Umbrian attractions of Perugia, Norci and Spoleto are all close by.

Other Reviews

Castello di Postignano

"Postignano is less of a hotel and more of an entire village. It’s an albergo diffuso – a hospitality trend adopted by many dwindling communities across Italy to revive abandoned towns – with 60 apartments, an acclaimed restaurant and an atmospheric bar occupying its immaculate, labyrinthine streets."
