Lausanne Palace proves that some things in life just get better with age. Opened in 1915, the palatial property has always been a social gathering house for well-heeled Lausanners and now more than a century later, the spruced up luxury property remains the place to be seen. While traditions run deep in the 20th-century palace with the Belle Epoque facade and old-school elevators still in operation, the Lausanne Palace is anything but outdated. All 140 rooms are modern and wildly spacious. Lakeside suites are an untold secret gem for travellers with hands down the best views of Lausanne. There is also a classy Coco Chanel suite.
Like all great palace hotels in Europe, the Lausanne Palace has it all. A wellness centre with round-the-clock gym and private trainer, indoor pool, sauna, hamman, multiple hot tubs, sun deck and treatment rooms for massages and facials. Gastronomes are spoilt for choice here. Brasserie Grand Chene is an institution and serves classic dishes like steak frites, L’Ecaillier is the spot for seafood and bubbles and Matcha Picchu is Lausanne’s trendiest Nikkei dining outlet. There is also a gourmet fondue pop-up during the winter. The darling of the palace has to be the two Michelin-starred restaurant, La Table by Franck Pelux. Think: local Swiss ingredients with bold Asian flavours – definitely a place for discovering prestigious Swiss wines too. Location is king for the palace with everything at its doorstep – designer fashion boutiques, museums, art galleries and even the main train station all minutes away by foot.

We offer a wide selection of fresh, high-quality products, including artisanal breads and pastries, regional cheeses, seasonal fruits and hot dishes, complemented by attentive service.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
Gastronomy is a key pillar of the Lausanne Palace experience. Our hotel is home to several exceptional dining venues: La Table du Lausanne Palace, our signature restaurant, is renowned for its refined seasonal cuisine and has been awarded 2 Michelin stars and 17/20 Gault & Millau distinctions. La Brasserie du Grand Chêne offers relaxed, contemporary French dining; LP’s Bar serves cocktails and light bites; Le 1915 is perfect for afternoon tea or intimate gatherings; and Matcha Picchu brings a modern, healthy twist with Japanese-Peruvian inspired dishes and vibrant matcha creations.
Beyond the hotel, we are delighted to recommend outstanding local restaurants, including some of Lausanne’s historic institutions such as Café Beau-Rivage, Café Romand, and Pinte Besson. These venues offer guests a true taste of the city’s heritage and culinary scene, ensuring a rich and memorable experience.
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
Our most popular rooms are the lake-view rooms and suites, highly appreciated for their spectacular views over Lake Geneva and the Alps. Guests value the spaciousness, elegant design and the sense of calm they offer, right in the centre of the city.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms?
Lausanne Palace is family-friendly and pays special attention to its youngest guests. Extra beds and baby cots are available in many room categories. We also prepare personalised welcomes for children, adapted to their age, with small surprises such as games, balloons and thoughtful touches designed to make them feel truly welcome from the moment they arrive. Families particularly appreciate the spacious rooms and the hotel’s central location, close to parks, museums and the lake.
