“A beautiful family friendly resort set by a bay on Hvar Island. Interiors ooze authentic Mediterranean style, with plenty of boho-chic vibes. Think neutral colours, modern finishings and plenty of wooden accents. The restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes and there's an outstanding spa. Superb!”

Hotel review

Overlooking a deep blue bay with gorgeous sunsets, Maslina offers a tranquil retreat from the touristy crowds of Hvar Town (15km away). Set amid pines and olive trees and blending into the surrounding landscape, Maslina's contemporary design uses natural materials – wood, stone and terracotta. It's a place for enjoying gourmet dining, holistic spa treatments and lazy afternoons bathing in the sandy cove next to the hotel's organic vegetable garden.

Maslina's 50 rooms are a real treat - king-size beds with comfy Coco-Mat mattresses face onto spacious private terraces with sublime sea-views. Think wooden floors, woolly rugs and roughly-hewn stone hand basins, and little extras such as homemade cookies. Interconnected rooms are ideal for families, with baby-sitting on request. The Terra a la carte restaurant overlooks the turquoise infinity pool, rimmed by a wooden deck with sun-beds and potted olive trees, while the spa does massage and beauty treatments using custom-made natural products. And for the little ones, the Playroom arranges supervised games and activities. You'll find Maslina just a 10-minute walk from Stari Grad's ferry port, where someone from the hotel will meet you with a golf-buggy.

Map & Location

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Maslina was built around a simple but deeply held belief — that true luxury looks different for every person. Some guests arrive needing stillness. Others come for adventure, celebration, or simply a change of pace. Our Mindful Luxury philosophy means we pay attention to what each guest actually needs and guide their experience around that. People leave feeling genuinely restored, and that is what keeps them coming back.

What is there to do in the area? Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns in Europe, is just five minutes away — a beautiful place to wander, eat, and soak up 2400 years of history. Hvar Island itself offers something for every kind of traveller: boat tours through the Pakleni Islands, cycling through lavender fields, cultural tours (Hvar Island has six UNESCO protections), winery visits, dining and shopping in Hvar Town, and some of the clearest water in the Adriatic. Our Experiences team is on hand to help guests find exactly what they are looking for.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? Breakfast is a combination of an à la carte menu with all of the classics, from eggs benedict to omelettes and scrambles, french toast and pancakes, and a buffet table stocked daily with homemade quiche, cinnamon rolls, banana bread, cereals, fresh juices, nuts, and seasonal fruits.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Our Michelin-recommended Terra Restaurant serves lunch and dinner built around hyper-local Mediterranean ingredients sourced from the island. We also offer tasting menus in the evening. For something lighter, A·Bay Beach Bar offers fresh salads, sandwiches, and poke bowls with views of the Adriatic. For dining off-site, Stari Grad has some wonderful local konobas where guests can experience traditional Dalmatian cooking. Our team is always on hand to offer their recommendations for the best dining spots in town, with Blue Doors and Kod Barba Luke being our top picks.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our Panoramic Suite and Panoramic Room are consistently our most requested categories. Both offer sweeping views over the Adriatic and are ideal for couples.

What facilities do you have for children, and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? We have a dedicated Kids' Playroom with a daily programme of activities designed to keep younger guests genuinely engaged, from movie nights and disco evenings to little gardeners sessions in our organic garden. Selected room categories can accommodate baby cots, and we also offer two and three-bedroom family suites for those travelling with more space in mind.

What message would you like to give The Hotel Guru readers? Maslina is not the loudest resort on the island, and that is entirely by design. It is a place where the details matter, where the team genuinely cares, and where the pace of life is truly connected to the island. All of our guests leave having felt something, and that, more than anything, is what we set out to create.
