What is there to do in the area? Nedging Hall Estate is a family-owned country estate in Suffolk. The Estate comprises of pubs, country houses and a brewery. The Crown and The Red Rose form part of the Nedging Hall Estate collection. They're approximately three miles apart with beautiful Suffolk countryside between them. It makes for a wonderful walk.
What kind of breakfast do you offer? A delicious Suffolk breakfast is included. Every breakfast is freshly cooked to order.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good placesto eat out locally? With a focus on locally sourced produce, the menus change like the surrounding Suffolk landscape through the seasons. The garden team and talented chefs work hand in hand to create an incredible ‘estate to plate’ experience in our traditional, yet stylish village pub. We have a team of 4 full-time gardeners who ensure we have the best homegrown produce. Our seasonal menu is something we pride ourselves upon, giving each produce its own dish to shine within.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? The epitome of timeless luxury, our Orchard rooms are large rooms that feature super king beds, stylish furnishings and indulgent bathrooms.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? We can fit Z beds in a few of our rooms.
What message would you like to give The Hotel Guru readers? Family owned, standing proud in Suffolk. Being family owned and run means The Crown is a pub with heart. Charlie and Harriet are entirely hands on and it is Harriet’s keen eye for interior design that has ensured The Crown looks as good as it tastes. A palate of heritage colours ranging from golden yellows, to perfect greens and warming reds weave their way throughout the ground floor creating a convivial and inviting space which always glow courtesy of the roaring fire.
Everything at The Crown is about humble beginnings – we start in the kitchen garden and that’s what people want. We don’t need bubbles or fancy things to impress. Our offering is genuine and unpretentious and that is what sets us apart.
