“A beautiful relaxing hotel on the beach offers rooms with private balconies and spectacular views of the Adriatic. Interiors are simple and stylish in neutral colours and antiques. Timo, the in-house restaurant serves Puglian dishes including fresh seafood. A truly Mediterranean feel.”

Hotel review

Set beside the Adriatic Sea, this whitewashed escape offers a peaceful blend of understated luxury, breezy style, and warm hospitality that captures the charm of Puglia perfectly.

Rooms are cool, calming and quietly chic, with pale stone floors, crisp linens and balconies ideal for that first morning espresso or golden-hour spritz. Bathrooms boast huge walk-in showers and generous stack of towels – and some have Jacuzzi baths. All have a balcony with glimpses of the sea, some looking directly across it.

Service here deserves a standing ovation. Gilda is the hotel’s heart and soul – warm, witty and effortlessly efficient – and Anna ran La Boutique with the same calm professionalism. The shop itself is a delight, with colourful Italian linen pieces and accessories perfect for slipping into Puglian holiday mode.

Breakfast is a triumph – arguably the best in the region. Expect flaky pastries, sun-ripened fruit, fresh cheeses and meats, and excellent coffee poured with a smile. The pool is spacious and blissfully quiet, now made even better with the new pool bar serving refreshing spritzes and snacks throughout the day. A few steps further and you're on the beach.

The spa is impressive, offering a full circuit of hydrotherapy, sauna, steam and sensory showers – as well as a gym for those with energy.

If you do dine here, request a table in the main room, if the weather doesn't allow you to sit outside. The menu is a little contrived and over complicated, however the T-bone steak is absolutely delicious and there are plenty of trattorie in Torre Canne to choose from.

Still, with a setting like this, and standout staff like Lesley, Gilda and Anna, Canne Bianche is a joy to return to. Stylish, soulful and wonderfully welcoming – this is Puglia at its best.
