Hotel Review

The owners of this rural French farmhouse offer a friendly welcome and plenty of information on the local area. Marie-Eugenie and her husband, Dominique prepare local dishes in large portions without the pretentiousness of some guesthouses. Rooms are clean and well furnished. Light-flooded, pale tiled floors and exposed limestone walls. Bedrooms are comfortable with soft colours and modern art. The communal living area has books and magazines with a family dining-kitchen room. Beautifully restored and a stunning garden with views of the French countryside. Perfect rural sleepiness.

La Ferme de Marie-Eugenie, Burgundy: hotel review

This is rural France at its most welcoming, with none of the stuffy pretentiousness you find in grand hotels.
