Hotel Overview

“La Ferme du Lac Vert (and its little sister La Petite Ferme) is a stunning chalet renovation in the pretty alpine village of Montriond, just outside Morzine. This traditional chalet dates back to 1842, but in 2010 it underwent a complete restoration and renovation, resulting in the stunning property that you'll find today.

The cosy chalet interiors are very much as you'd expect - plenty of wood, roaring open fire, large picture windows framing gorgeous mountain views - except that the attention to detail is superb. There's been no scrimping on the budget here! Sumptuous individually designed rooms boast wooden floors, exposed beams and beautiful antique furnishings which are complemented by modern paintings and plenty of cow skin rugs! Return from the slopes and you'll be greeted with delicious afternoon tea, followed by drinks, canapes and four course dinners prepared by AA Rosette standard chefs (catering is provided six nights per week during the winter months). The superb attention to detail is emphasised by additional little luxuries like cowshed toileteries, a chauffeur service to and from the slopes and concierge service to help you arrange any activities or dining out.

La Petite Ferme offers more of the same. It's a charming original mazot which now offers two ensuite double rooms plus a mezzanine (with double bed and private bathroom), and spoiling outdoor hot tub. This can either be used as extra accommodation for large parties taking over La Ferme du Lac Vert or is offered as a luxury hideaway chalet for parties of six throughout the ski season (the same gourmet food prepared by a private chef is on offer, as is the chauffering to and from the slopes etc).

The property is also open during the summer months (though the emphasis here is on weddings and corporate breaks), when the area becomes a mecca for cyclists (both of the mountain and road variety) and walkers. Plus there's the lovely Lake Montriond where you practise your kayaking or simply relax on the beach with a good book. For a luxury mountain retreat it doesn't get much better than this!”

“Why do people love staying in your chalet?
We like to think it's the attention to detail. From the chalet decor, to each individual guest experience, we strive to offer the perfect service for each visitor to La Ferme du Lac Vert. With the number of returning guests each season, and with more and more clients now also visiting over the summer months, we seem to be achieving something special. Our customer reviews are a testament to the teams efforts, which derive from the overall execution of our objective, which is creating a real home from home with exceptional service in the heart of the French Alps.

What is there to do in the area?
Every mountain activity imaginable....Skiing, Snowboarding, Snow Shoeing, Sledging, Ice-Skating Hiking, Biking, Climbing, Rafting, along with plenty of relaxing! Located in the Haute-Savoie, Morzine is a traditional French market town bustling with life and activity all year round. Whether you are an adrenaline junkie, a hiking enthusiast, or just like to sit back and relax, Morzine caters for all. Mix and match your stay from some mountaineering activities, a day at the local market, to a trip to the shorelines of neighboring Lake Annecy or Lake Leman (Lake Geneva). The options are endless.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?
We set the tone of the day with our extensive breakfast menu. In house prepared pastries, pancakes, poached eggs, mountain muesli, seasonal fruit and of course our guest favorite hot Swiss muesli, along with all the usual breakfast treats and offerings.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
Our AA Rosette chefs will cater for all requirements and serve a spectacular 4 course evening meal on six nights of your stay. Our menus change with the season, utilising the best of locally sourced ingredients and suppliers.

Which are your most popular room types, and why?
Each of our rooms were individually designed and styled with their own theme. From our Pleney honeymoon suite with its roll-top bath, our Roc D'Enfer room with its four poster Indonesian bed and Buddha theme, to our Ardent family suite with its built-in sleigh bed, each room really does vary. We have some guests returning year on year, requesting the same room while while others are aiming to sleep in all 11 as the seasons progress. We developed our virtual tour so our guests can truly tour every nook and cranny of our chalets.

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
Each room was spaciously designed to give optimum use of space. Our room types vary from twin, double, triple, family triple, and our one quadruple family room. While we offer our chalet on a sole occupancy basis from 24, full occupancy of all rooms can actually accommodate up to 30 guests.
We offer referral to an in-house nanny service for families travelling with younger children, while over sole occupancy family weeks we host an earlier supervised kids dinner service in a separate reception area allowing our older guests to truly relax in front of our open fire, whilst enjoying our pre-dinner canapes and cocktail service.

What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers?
From solo travelers, to families, to our corporate clients, to even our wedding guests, we understand our guests requirements. Our pre-departure planning service addresses all requests and wishes, for our guests to truly begin their holiday as soon as they arrive to La Ferme du Lac Vert. Our operations team will provide insightful advice and local knowledge from the initial inquiry. Our online reviews and testimonials are testament to the service and product we provide.”
