Hotel Review

Situated in the 2nd Arrondissement between the Opera Garnier and The Louvre (in fact it directly overlooks the historic Opera Comique), the lovely Maison Favart is a luxurious little hideaway that offers a discreet and sophisticated stay for anyone who relishes the finer things in life, but doesn’t want to pay through the nose for it! The 39 rooms and suites are individually designed, but all share the same elegant style and atmosphere, highlighted by plenty of silk, leather headboards, velvet upholstery and rich colours. Bathrooms are equally indulgent — you can expect a mosaic tiled monsoon shower or bath, with marble detailing and lovely complimentary toiletries. Downstairs the theme continues with a beautiful lounge/reception with plenty of deep, comfy velvet sofas and armchairs ideal for relaxing with a drink from the honesty bar (there’s everything on offer from G&Ts to a glass of bubbly) and discussing the day’s adventures. Breakfast is also taken in this homely space — a delicious buffet with both hot and cold treats — and there’s complimentary tea and coffee on offer all day (plus a freshly baked cake at teatime). They’ve even thought of takeaway cups so that you can grab one and go. Last but not least there’s a fabulous little spa in the basement. Perfect for a relaxing hour or two after a hectic day in the city. Not only is there a sauna, but there’s also a small heated pool and gym. Bliss! Maison Favart is a fantastic little find in a superb central location. One of the reasons that it shines is the standard of the staff — friendly, efficient, discreet — really the embodiment of everything that this hidden gem stands for. If luxury and discretion are at the top of your wish list, don’t hesitate!
