“A sleek new addition to Nine Elms, this riverside London stay pairs skyline views with low-key luxury. Inside, it’s all marble, brass and plush textures—think moody lighting, sculptural art and skyline-soaked bathtubs. There’s a spa with a vast pool, Cantonese fine dining and a wine library”

Hotel review

Set right over the river Thames in the fast-transforming area of Nine Elms and yards from the new American Embassy. It’s a gleaming skyscraper with 18 floors of glass and limestone. The lobby is sleek and glamorous with lots of space and height. The entire interior is rich with woods, marble and glass. The colour scheme is earthy, neutral and natural. The light cleverly reflects off surfaces in a fashion similar to the shimmering Thames.
The 203 rooms and suites are perfect in their freshness and finishing. There are spectacular sweeping views out over the river. The neutrality is offset by orange leather seats and William Morris screens. There’s plush bedding, a heated Toto loo, a rainfall shower and a free-standing, claw-footed bathtub.
There are two main restaurants. The Nine Elms Kitchen & Terrace, spaciously and informally arranged around an open kitchen, with its terrace, bar and patisserie and, at the other end of the hallway, lies the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant Yú Gé. As for the hotel’s bar lounge, just opposite the entrance, it’s extremely opulent and elegant with its installation of 500 tulip-shaped bulbs and ever richer colours suggestive of the night-time.
The staff are fantastic. And there’s even valet parking. The hotel’s mission is that of “accommodating guests who are looking for the ultimate indulgence” It succeeds by being stylish and luxuriant in equal measure.
