The clue is in the name with the 'Basic' rooms but go up a couple of categories to the semi-deluxe and above and you get some serious value for your money. Decorated with traditional Rajasthani trimmings Pearl Palace is a backpackers' favourite. Even the most discerning travellers visit its Peacock Restaurant, an atmospheric rooftop dining experience serving up rich and flavoursome North Indian dishes whilst breakfast is a simple affair of eggs, breads, pancakes and cereals although they do serve some excellent coffee. Staff are more than happy to help you organise trips around The Pink City and use reputable tour guides - so you don't have to worry about falling foul of Rajasthan's tourist traps. In short, this is the best low budget option in town.
