Hotel Review
Wander down the quiet cobbled streets away the bustle of Hydra’s small port quickly and the noise almost immediately recedes, replaced by the typical Greek slowness that many seek on holiday. In the back streets, where balconies cast shadows at dusk against whitewashed walls and innumerable cats laze in plant pots, sits this renovated 19th century tapestry factory. Rooms still happily contain remaining features of the old building – mine had a sink in the windowsill and a hearth in the wall. A simple breakfast is taken on the pleasant rooftop in warmer weather as you gaze out onto the pretty pines and villas set against the rising hills.
