Pine fields, thatched roofs, and solid oak furnishings create the architectural language at this understated Alentejo retreat, where space itself is positioned as the ultimate luxury. Every accommodation exceeds 40 square metres – cabanas use glass and wood to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. Bathrooms epitomise unostentatious luxury with Maison Codage Paris products and a strategically positioned bath where sunlight filters through pinewoods – a simple pleasure that feels utterly indulgent. At ŌRA, the signature restaurant, Atlantic influences meet regional gastronomy with a focus on grilling; try fresh fish by the kilo or beijinho (flat iron steak) with salada mista. Wellness takes center stage with weekly complimentary tennis and padel clinics (in partnership with Rackets Pro Academy), yoga sessions, and fitness classes. Two pools satisfy different temperature preferences – one consistently heated to 28°C – with live music by the water during summer. The resort sits where golden beaches stretch toward a turquoise sea with views of distant Arrábida hills. Spatia's genius lies in somehow luxurious sparsity, letting Comporta's natural magic sparkle.

The best hotels in Comporta

This is a property that doesn’t cram people in to get as many rooms as possible; instead, rooms have 200m² of space, and it almost feels as though you’ve got the place to yourself. Macrame wall hangings, high wooden ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows make this a typically Comporta place to stay, but refreshing and tranquil all the same. Coming to Spatia means relaxing. The pool is bigger than most, and you can comfortably do laps if you wish – a rare thing, even in Comporta, a place almost made for swimming.
