“Part of Suffolk’s Nedging Hall Estate, this privately owned village pub with 13 newly refurbished rooms feels like a welcome sanctuary. The bar and restaurant have a lively atmosphere and draw a crowd for the delicious estate-to-plate dining. Perfect for a pitstop or gourmet mini break.”

Hotel review

The historical 15th century former coaching inn radiates warmth from its yellow ochre façade and a feeling of lightness and calm on the inside. The enthusiastic manager and his delightful team of staff are on hand to usher guests along a tartan corridor to their rooms - all spacious and uber comfy with spotless en suite bathrooms.

Decor is fresh and contemporary country in style - white bedlinen with colourful print cushions on beds that are either wooden framed, rattan, bateau, brass or four-poster. A velvet sofa, leather armchair or elegant upholstered antique Louis XV chair is provided for added comfort along with coffee and tea making facilities.

Dining is a treat. The homegrown vegetables, fresh from the kitchen garden and locally sourced ingredients, mean dishes are full of flavour and the chef goes the extra mile to create a menu that’s innovative, original and thoughtfully presented. There’s an extensive wine list to accompany food. The owners acquired Mauldon’s, the oldest brewery in East Anglia, in 2019 and their award-winning beers are available from the bar. The restaurant gets lively at night with locals and guests alike enjoying the edible delights. Overall it’s a great experience. This is no ordinary pub.
