“Large townhouse hotel in a prime West End location. Spacious rooms and suites offer a contemporary ambience, whilst not forgetting the period features including high ceilings and huge windows. Acclaimed restaurant No. 35 serves European cuisine with a Scottish twist.”

Hotel review

Built between 1874 and 1882, this former trio of townhouses still feels like a home when you enter, albeit a very luxurious one. Art from Richard H Driehaus’ collection graces the walls and tiffany floor lamps delicately light the corners of the entrance hall and lounge. Stud-backed soft furnishings sit by wood panelled walls in the sitting room, restaurant and bar, where the Victorian heart of this boutique hotel meets art deco design. Grand chandeliers hang from every ceiling, including the guest rooms, and heavy thick curtains swish on their rails. Expect Scottish favourites with a modern twist in No. 35 Restaurant, like grass fed Scottish beef carpaccio and sea trout with purple potatoes, and enjoy a Highlands Old Fashioned by the bookcase in the lounge. Located just 10 minutes on foot from Princes Street and within easy reach of the castle, the Royal Mile, and all museums, galleries, and attractions, The Bonham is a chic city centre haven.
