"One of the finest hotels in the north-west", the Chester Grosvenor is the perfect place to stay for interiors that ooze "modern elegance" and a restaurant (The Arkle) that is infamous, having retained its Michelin star for 2 decades. Chester itself has Roman heritage, "beautiful architecture", and an "eclectic mix of boutique shops in Medieval Rows' shopping galleries". Perhaps not for young families as the rooms are "relentlessly mature".
