Hotel Review

A youthful pop-art sensibility rules from the moment you enter the Zetter (and indeed before – you can't miss the giant neon Z that surmounts the building). A vivid, tropic-themed mural brightens reception, and lift walls are patterned in black and red. A conversion of a 19th century commercial building, the hotel is built around a six-storey, glass-roofed atrium lit in red and green. The atrium is decorated by a site specific installation inspired by silverware used in grand hotels of yesteryear and created by the hotel’s resident art curator and maker, Stephen Rothholz. At street level, breakfast and brunch (think pancakes, fresh patisserie, eggs benedict and the like) are served in the Atrium. For lunch and dinner, the Club Zetter restaurant is a daylit space with outdoor tables in summer, while its bar excels at creative cocktails and craft beers, with an imaginatively-chosen wine list. Brightly-patterned walls and quirky works of art set the scene. Upstairs, bedrooms are uncluttered and well laid out, with large windows and views of the City skyline. Colour schemes favour white, cream, brown and charcoal, brightened by chairs upholstered in floral prints. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers, REN toiletries and fluffy robes. You'll find complimentary bottled water from the hotel's own artesian well beside your bed. All things considered, there are few better places than the Zetter for a lively London break. A fun and happy place to be.

Ben’s cooking style is simple and well balanced, allowing the produce to really shine. It is this seasonal spontaneity that is a big part of the draw of Ben’s menu, where the food is entirely ingredient-led.
