About Samoëns

Samoëns is classified as a ‘ville fleurie’, meaning it’s one of the most beautiful towns or villages in France. But it’s probably better known as a ski resort and part of the Grand Massif ski region, which also includes Morillon and Flaine. Samoëns is also on the doorstep of the Cirque du Fer-a-Cheval, which is a wonderful national park with clear views up to the mountains and the famous chocolate box peak of Mont Blanc. The best places to stay in Samoëns in winter aren’t any different from the best places to stay in Samoëns in the summer months. Not quite as much is open in some resorts, but the majority of properties cater for summer visitors as well as winter ones, for Samoëns is spectacular all year round.
