Most people bypass Praiano en route between Positano and Ravello, but it shares the same marvellous coastline and views, and at Casa Privata, accessed by a long flight of stone steps from the road, you will have one of the most sensational views of all, from the wonderful landscaped gardens, full of lavender and roses, fountains, greenery and stone benches, that surround the converted fisherman’s house in their midst. The architect-designed house is a delight, full of fresh flowers and pretty things, and the bedrooms are large, airy and attractive. There’s no pool, though the sea can be accessed by steps from the garden. Meals on request.
