About Zadar

What are the best hotels in Zadar?

Zadar has everything from charming little boutique hotels in the Old Town to sleek five star resorts by the Adriatic, so it really just depends on what kind of stay you’re after. Of all the hotels on our list, Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Iadera is our overall favourite. This five star spa hotel has it all: a beautiful Adriatic setting on the Punta Skala peninsula, contemporary interiors, excellent service and a seriously impressive 6,000 sqm spa, complete with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and a Turkish hammam. It’s a little outside Zadar’s historic centre, but that’s part of the appeal if you’re after a more peaceful escape with plenty of space and sea views.

Zadar may be compact, but it's bursting with charm — think timeworn limestone lanes, blazing Adriatic sunsets, strings of garlic and figs at the market, and ancient churches glowing under the night sky. The Old Town is made for wandering. Its stone streets and historic squares are pedestrian-friendly, and you're never far from a café serving up strong coffee, cold beer, or a crusty roll filled with the region’s famous prosciutto. When it’s time to eat, Zadar delivers. Local restaurants dish up fresh, affordable Dalmatian fare — especially seafood. And as the day winds down, head to the west-facing promenade for a sunset that'll stop you in your tracks.
