Directly overlooking the raw Atlantic Ocean, Anima’s bioclimatic stone lodges have been designed to maximise on privacy and the expansive sea views. Anima means soul or life force and each of the cottages is named ‘soul’ in different languages. Rooms are arranged in potential pairs so families and groups can have an adjacent bungalow. All are well proportioned to include a generous bed, fire place, seating for two, desk and spacious en-suite bathroom with twin sinks and power shower.
 
The feel is sophisticated simplicity. Details matter here. Towels and bathrobes are embellished with the Anima Ocean Lodges logo; quality shampoo and body cream are provided, alongside eco-friendly, washable make-up remover pads. Outside each lodge are comfortable sun beds and seating to lounge on. On windier days, guests can hang out by the pool or catch some waves on a surfboard in nearby Sidi Kaouki.
 
Beautifully presented Moroccan food is available - tagine, freshly caught fish, prawns and salads etc. followed by delicious puddings and tasty sweet, amuse-bouches pastries can be enjoyed at tea time. Breakfast is served on wooden boards - a smorgasbord of fruit, cheese, nuts, pastries homemade cake, yoghurt and eggs.
 

Laura's hot tip: For Morocco, this is a great place for beach bathing; for longer stays, it’s worth sauntering (10 minutes) to Sidi Kaouki for lunch or dinner out of the compound.
