Hotel Review

Former stately home renovated by the Mantis group with spectacular results. Winding hallways with original flagstone floors open out into 62 rooms, including opulent suites with antique furniture, luxurious four posters, wood panelling and interiors by Nina Campbell. Modern additions include exotic spa with vast array of treatments available, and a serene heated outdoor pool, nestled in the courtyard. The decadent fine dining menu uses seasonal, local ingredients and wine lovers have over 400 options. Nice touches include Hunter wellies and golf umbrellas to borrow for a Cotwolds stroll, and on race days rangerovers chauffeur guests to nearby Cheltenham racecourse.

"Bedrooms have a country feel without falling into generic shabby chic, the service is warm, and the dining is fabulous, thanks to formidable chef David Kelman."
