This two-storey, pink-stucco confection on the edge of the Ladadika nightlife district is Thessaloniki’s first really stylish boutique hotel. Originally the city post office, it’s one of the few Ottoman-era buildings to have survived fire, earthquake and two world wars, and was given a total revamp in 2000 under the eye of Lena Capsis. There are 20 rooms and suites, all thoroughly soundproofed and furnished with deep handmade carpets and a mixture of antique and repro furniture. Terrific food at the Medusa bistro-bar and Deipnosophistis restaurant.
