Despite occupying what could pass as a grand Mediterranean mansion, the Hotel Cala Sant Vicenc has been open to guests since first opening its doors in the 1930s. A partial makeover in 2017 transformed a previously old-fashioned lobby and restaurant into a bright, welcoming space with jaunty patterned tiles and cheerful splashes of colour. Guestrooms and suites remain more traditional in style, with most extending to a balcony or terrace with views of the neighbouring foothills of the Tramuntana Sierra. While sea views are minimal, the hotel is a few minutes' stroll from the bijou resort's beaches and low-key nightlife. A peaceful tidy garden provides manicured-lawn, sun terraces and good-length pool, plus a poolside patio for alfresco dining. Although no longer an adults-only property, the atmosphere remains laid-back and grown-up, with little to appeal to younger guests. It's all about disconnecting and de-stressing in this secluded and exceptionally serene setting.

"A small, friendly hotel in a quiet seaside village offering comfortable accommodation within walking distance of three sandy coves. The pleasant pool and garden are a tranquil alternative when beaches are busy."
