The 8 Best B&Bs in Sorrento

Sorrento and the Amalfi coast are certainly glamorous with their spectacular cliffs, stunning sea-views and lush flowers and vegetation. But staying there doesn’t necessarily also have to be expensive. In Sorrento there are some charming and good-value b&bs which offer you access to all the attractions of the area but without a hefty price-tag. Most are family-run, with a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Many are in the centre, close to restaurants and shops, while others offer a little more peace yet are still within strolling distance of all the places you’ll want to visit. For a Central b&b

Offering excellent value for money, Palazzo Spasiano is a delightful three-room B&B in a restored palazzo in the centre of Sorrento. Rooms are light, stylish and modern, all with balconies; perfect for people-watching after a day at the beach or visiting Pompeii or Herculaneum. Breakfast is taken in the next-door café.
Also good value and very central is Veru B&B, a bright and contemporary guest house with bold colours, feature walls, wooden floors and crisp uncluttered furnishings. Bicycles can also be hired direct from the hotel.
Equally bright and colourful is Palazzo Januzzi Relais which sits on the famous Piazza Tasso. Rooms are modern and airy with big splashes of yellow and grey against a light, white background. Several rooms have balconies, plus there’s a small terrace.

The five-room Palazzo Montefusco is a boutique-style B&B on the upper floor of a central building. Chic rooms are decorated in shades of cream and coffee and with sleek contemporary furniture. There’s also a sitting room and balcony for good people-watching!
A slightly more expensive option, Palazzo Abagnale & Tritone is a modern and chic designer guest house. Rooms – including spacious family suites – are cool and crisp in pale colours with contemporary bathrooms. There’s also a small garden and an excellent breakfast choice.

For a harbourside stay

With perfect sea-views, yet tucked away from the public gaze, Yacht Club Capo Cervo Suites are a perfect hideaway above Sorrento’s harbour. The three rooms mix modern and antique furnishings, much of the latter rescued from old ships, while their balconies give unrivalled views across the bay.

Peaceful b&bs

In a converted farmhouse on the edge of Sorrento, the six-room Relais Correale Rooms & Garden offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle of the town. Set amidst olive, orange and lemon trees, its rooms are beautifully light and decorated with traditionally colourful tiles and bright-coloured fabrics. Take breakfast on the tree-shaded terrace.
The family-run Villa Oriana Relais, also set amongst fruit groves, has stunning sea- and countryside-views from its terrace. Bedrooms are beautifully cool and furnished in traditional style with tiled floors, white walls and handsome vintage furniture; some with balconies. There’s also a hot tub on the terrace with stunning seaviews.
