Who knew London Marriott Hotel Park Lane could feel so boutique? With just 150 rooms, including 38 suites, this luxury London hotel has the intimacy of a smaller property rather than a big-city chain. The location is spot on, right on the corner of Marble Arch, Oxford Street and Park Lane, with the iconic Hyde Park just across the road.

Inside, the rooms are classically stylish with parquet floors, silk drapes and a soft palette of pinks, mauves and greys. Bathrooms are a highlight, finished in marble with large walk-in showers, year-round heated rails, Japanese-style heated loo seats and a generous line-up of Penhaligon’s products. Thoughtful touches and generosity of spirit run throughout your stay; the latest magazines, plenty of tea, coffee and water, and the pleasure of a nightly turndown service at a time of your choosing. The stunning indoor pool is open from early morning through to 11pm, as is the fully-equipped gym, so there's no excuse not to keep up with your fitness routine, though a session in the sauna might be just as beneficial!

The large beds are another triumph, with Hypnos mattresses and toppers dressed in silky-smooth linen that guarantee an excellent night’s sleep; even the rooms right on Park Lane are incredibly quiet. Breakfast is a feast with everything from eggs shakshuka, hummus, salad, smoked salmon, eggs any way you like, fresh juices and honeycomb to breads, pastries, chia pudding! You can even help yourself to a coffee to take away.

If you're heading into town in the evening, stop by the bar at Lanes of London, the hotel's restaurant, and enjoy one of Benjamin's vodka gimlets. If you're staying a couple of nights, it's worth booking a table in the dining room where chef Manjur adds his Indian heritage to the menu with crab cakes that are light, fragrant and full of flavour. The rib eye and the sticky toffee pudding are other highlights on the menu. 

London Marriott Hotel Park Lane is a standout for a stylish London stay, perfect for a few days in the city.
