Hotel Overview

“The Grand Hotel Majestic is everything a top-notch Italian city hotel should be, from its marble-columned foyer – where uniformed doormen greet you with amiable deference – to its plush rooms and suites.
In-room colour schemes are unashamedly old-school Venetian in style, with lots of gold, burgundy and purple accents, velvet and satin, and 19th-century gilt and marble. Walk-in wardrobe spaces have enough storage space for even a Hollywood star's wardrobe. You'll find fluffy robes, slippers and posh toiletries in the big marble bathrooms, which have tubs big enough for a giant, over-tub showers, bidets and even two different kinds of toilet paper.
Amid all this opulence, don't expect many concessions to the wired-up 21st century. There's free wireless access – but those who need to charge phones and other devices will find only one socket per room.
Downstairs, framed photos of famous guests from Sinatra to Springsteen decorate the bar and 16th century frescoes grace the ceiling of the fine dining I Caracci restaurant. Breakfast is a lavish repast, featuring (of course) mortadella, Parma ham and local cheeses, fresh fruit, complimentary prosecco and even chocolate cake. Peek into the basement level to discover the carefully-preserved cobbles and flagstones of an ancient Roman highway.”

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
To find yourselves among Hollywood elites, royalty and music icons. Excite your pallet at the I Carracci Restaurant. Enjoy the unique panoramic view of the city. Test drive in the land of Motors on your way to the factory. Unique experience in the historical palace, facility of excellence, rich in masterpieces itself, part of the artistic heritage of Bologna.

What is there to do in the area?
You can have gourmet tours or you can also drive in the Land of Motors. Bologna is known as “the city of food” because of its tortellini, mortadella and ragout. Try also the cuisine experience with the Sfogline to make homemade pasta by yourselves. Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni” offers also to its guests the unique Personal Art Service. Upon request, a professional art historian will be at your disposal in the Hotel to illustrate the features of the historical and artistic heritage of Bologna and of Emilia Romagna. You will be given some notion and information about masterpieces, monuments and museums of the city, together with an overview about the main historical and artistic sites of Emilia Romagna, about logistics and planning of your trip, about typical and characteristic places and aspects of this land, about curiosities unknown to most people, which could make your stay in Bologna a unique moment in your discovery of Italy.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?
International and Italian breakfast too. There are also a lot of hot dishes on request.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
Sundays brunches are organized starting from 12 to 3 pm. Light lunches at Cafe’ Marinetti are also available. The proposal consists of a dish and, in addition, fresh fruits, delish treats, coffee, mineral water and a glass of wine. Light lunches are available every day.
Our Cafe’ Marinetti is daily open also to the public, like I Carracci Restaurant (Three Forks Michelin) too. You can also taste special cocktails created ad hoc for the celebration of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, inventor of the Futuristic movement. For him, arriving in Bologna came to mean staying at the Baglioni Hotel. “Bologna, Baglioni.” His signature appears always in the guestbooks of the Hotel, that, even then, was considered a place of excellence. Today the Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni” intends to remember one of the most extraordinary characters of the Italian history with naming its Café’ area as tribute to him, and to make a constant memory of a poet, writer, artist and cultural entertainer, of which the whole Europe is so proud, like all of us too.

Which are your most popular room types, and why?
Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni” has different room types starting from Classic category to Suite. Executive and Presidential suites are also available.
One of our suites is called “Art Déco Suite” on the 5th floor, with a private entrance and a private terrace which faces directly on Piazza del Nettuno.
All the 109 rooms are in classical venetian style.

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms?
Baby-sitting is available upon request and extra beds can be added starting from Deluxe room category.

What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers?
Try the unique experience in the only 5* luxury hotel, part of The Leading Hotels of the World, in the heart of the city of Bologna. Enjoy an uncommon experience made of the attention of our staff and the experience you will live in a historical palace of the XVIII century.”
