About Ostuni

Perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of olive groves and the Adriatic, Ostuni is Puglia’s shining white gem. This charming, multicultural town is perfect for hotel hunters — whether you're after boutique luxury, family-friendly farmhouses, or wallet-friendly stays. Sleep in a romantic palazzo in the medieval old town, or unwind at a masseria just outside, where homegrown produce and peaceful countryside steal the show. For beach access and rustic charm, the outskirts are your best bet.

Ostuni’s historic centre is a real treat, with its winding streets, centuries-old architecture, and sweeping views over the olive-strewn plains below—especially from the striking 15th-century Concattedrale. Strolling around, you'll find plenty of inviting spots to eat and drink tucked among the whitewashed buildings. In August, the town really comes to life with its patron saint festival and a mouthwatering foodie celebration earlier in the month. Just a short drive away, the coast offers sandy beaches perfect for a relaxing escape, while nearby natural wonders like ancient caves and the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve make for great outdoor adventures.

The Best Places to Stay in Ostuni

For every luxury

  • In a sea of whitewashed buildings, Paragon 700 turns heads with its bold red facade. Inside, expect grand ceilings, fireplaces, a spa and Ostuni’s only outdoor pool — boutique accommodation with serious flair and rare city-centre parking.

For a central location

  • In the heart of the old town, Ostuni Palace Hotel is an elegant spot that blends old-world romance with modern comforts. Think toile prints, a piano bar, a private beach with shuttle, and spacious family suites. A polished base for exploring the city’s charm.

Travel information

  • Ostuni’s closest international airport is Brindisi Airport, which is just half an hour away by car or taxi, and about an hour and twenty minutes by bus. Bari Airport is next closest, at just over an hour away by car. We note Bari Airport because it’s larger, and served by Ryanair, and some flag carrier airlines, while Brindisi is also served by Ryanair and other European low-cost carriers.
  • If you plan to hire a car, which we would advise if you want to get out and explore further afield, we recommend you visit our online partner Rentalcars.
  • Ostuni is landlocked within beautiful Puglia, which means it has a Mediterranean climate of hot, dry summers and mild winters, but without the sea to provide cooling breezes. So in the hottest months of July and August, Ostuni anticipates temperatures of 30+°C. November through February are the wettest months, but December is still very cheery with Christmas decorations. In spring the flowers are a wonder, perfect for walkers, and you’ll have the gradually warming centres to yourself, then there’s bustling summer, lasting until late September, and the quieter, but still very cheerful stretch between October and December, when the weather is still mild and it's possible to enjoy lunch on the terrace.
