For Romantic Sunsets

The Cove Eleuthera is a collection of stylish, contemporary beach cottages set in tropical grounds back from a rock promontory and two beautiful aquamarine coves — so that means two private beaches (and you can snorkel right off them). There are lots of other facilities too. Each room has a big verandah and incredible views. And there’s a glorious infinity pool and excellent restaurant.

For Ocean Views

The Ocean View Club is a small and charming, family-run hotel nestling right up against the sand on the Atlantic side of Dunmore Town, Harbour Island. Guest accommodation is in romantic beach cottages under coconut trees, or in the hotel proper. There’s great little restaurant on site, but there are plenty more around. And they do weddings…

For Escaping to the Beach

Beautifully positioned on the beach at Governor’s Harbour, Mika's Resort is a contemporary, five room hotel, perfect for a beach escape. This is a great choice for sociable couples, it’s got a community kitchen and large sea view terraces, and you can step right out of your casita (or little white cottage) right onto the sands. The hotel has lots of watersports equipment you can borrow too.
Pink Sands is a small and luxurious beachfront resort in tropical, jasmine-scented gardens. There’s plenty on offer in the way of facilities, including bikes, tennis, birdwatching and all manner of watersports, but this is also the sort of resort designed for relaxation. Large private terraces overlook the private beach and the pool, there’s a beautiful restaurant offering private dining on the beach, and a library.

For Peace and Privacy

Nothing can beat a private island resort for romance, so Kamalame Cay makes our list easily. The island is about 100 acres, and there are just a handful of suites and villas sharing them. The accommodation feels very chic, with beamed or thatched roofs and verandahs circling every building. The facilities are top notch, but the vibe is very laid back.
The Other Side, right on the beach on Eleuthera, has got to be the most glamorous glamp-site in the Caribbean! This collection of just six static, wood-floored ‘tents’ is both indulgent and stylish, and the games tent and bar lend a house party feel. A real Robinson Crusoe hideaway.
With just three cottages overlooking a rocky stretch of Eleuthera’s coastline, Ocean Tally is the smallest property on the list. It’s got a distinctly Bahamian feel with whirring fans, large terraces and unique architecture. It might feel a world away, but you’re actually close to local bars and restaurants.

For Romantic Style

Converted from a beautiful old plantation mansion on Harbour Island, Bahama House has retained the feeling of luxury and comfort, but added all the mod. cons. to the four-poster beds and elegant, shuttered terraces. Book a cottage if you want even more privacy and a separate living space; otherwise unwind by the pool before drinks at the rum bar. There’s no restaurant, but you’re within a short stroll of Dunmore Town.

For Active Couples

Cape Santa Maria is an elegant hotel in a prime beach location on the tip of Long Island. Accommodation is in suites or villas which have their own kitchens and dining areas. The hotel’s Bahamian restaurant is highly regarded too, and the beach bar has a quiet buzz. Perfect for watersports-filled days and laid back evenings.

For Romance and Relaxation

The Island House is a small and sophisticated hotel away from the tourist crowds of Nassau, but close enough to enjoy the sights. There’s an Eastern feel to the architecture and facilities, with lots of bamboo, and an extensive spa. All around are beautiful tropical gardens, so it’s a haven of relaxation.

Set on nine palm-fanned acres, Coral Sands is a spacious and stylish 39 room hotel on Harbour Island. This is an affordable way to do the Bahamas in style, with its superb French-Bahamian cuisine, cool bar and candle-lit beach dining. On three miles of perfect white beach.
Club Peace & Plenty is an historic house in George Town, Exumas, turned chic beachside resort. The 32 rooms and suites are white, light and airy, with large terraces and sea views. There’s a pool and restaurant, hotel boats you can hire, plus lots of watersports on offer locally.
