Best Boutique Hotels in Sardinia
Unique and beautiful Sardinia is an island with so much variety that it’s almost like a tiny country. The waters that surround it are so blue you might be mistaken for thinking this is the tropics, and the white sand beaches just add to that vibe. Yet the interior is rugged and rocky, with pockets that have been tempered for vineyards and olive groves, and dotted with charmingly traditional towns and villages that are memorable for their unique architecture. Many of Sardinia’s hotels and resorts tick boutique boxes because of their traditional style, scale, individually decorated rooms, reputation for warm welcomes and excellent service. Some of Sardinia’s boutique hotels are at the B&B and guesthouse end of the scale, while some are very luxurious. For a boutique hotel on the beach, you will find a good selection along the north eastern coastline, above Olbia, and along the southern coast, around Santa Margherita di Pula. For a remote, and possibly adults only option, try the hills along the east coast, where there are some beautifully converted estates. And if you’re planning to stay in a town, consider elegant Oristano, which is known for its galleries, restaurants, and independent shops, or Caligari and Bosa with their incredible Medieval architecture.
