About Positano

Clinging to the cliffs of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Positano is a picture-perfect escape of pastel-hued buildings, winding lanes, and dazzling sea views. It’s the go-to spot for romance, glamour, and unforgettable hotel stays. Whether you’re after a luxury villa with infinity pools, a stylish boutique hideaway, or a charming B&B that won’t break the bank, you’ll find it here. For sea views and elegance, stay high in the hills; for beach access and buzz, head closer to Spiaggia Grande.

Some of our Positano Collections:

Positano is pure Italian charm, with its candy-coloured houses clinging to cliffs, narrow winding roads, and bougainvillea spilling over balconies. In summer, it truly comes alive—beaches packed with striped parasols, kids chasing gelato, families splashing in the sea, and stylish Milanese browsing the boutiques. It's a paradise for romantics, photographers, and anyone who loves sun, sea, or a good meal with a view. The tradition of made-to-measure sandals still thrives, and the town buzzes from morning until late into the night.

While summer is the high season for the full, lively experience, Positano’s magic still lingers in the quieter months. Just don’t let it steal your heart so completely that you forget to explore the rest of the Amalfi Coast. Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, and Capri are all close enough for a day trip—and if you're feeling adventurous, there’s no better way to soak in the coast than from the back of a scooter.

Travel information

  • Postiano’s closest international airport is Naples Airport, which is about an hours drive away, or just under two hours by public transport.
  • If you plan to hire a car, which we would advise if you want to get out and explore further afield, we recommend you visit our online partner Rentalcars.
  • As wth the rest of the Amalfi Coast, the most popular time to visit Positano is during the summer, it’s hot and sunny but busy with it. Daily maximum temperatures in July and August average at 30° C, so if you’re not so good in the heat you might want to opt for May, June or September, which are still bustling periods, with lots of sunshine. Many like to visit Positano in spring, when the flowers are blooming, and many of the towns are opening up excitedly after the winter — the Italian travel season officially begins at Easter. The Amalfi Coast hosts a couple of festivals and events during spring too.
