About Shipston-on-Stour

Infused with all the charm of the Cotswolds, but without the heaving crowds, Shipston-on-Stour is an idyllic market town surrounded by gently rolling hills, dales and pastures. Shipston-on-Stour was historically a prominent sheep market, and by the 16th century also a thriving wool town, known for its beautiful tapestries. It still takes pride in its deep-rooted-traditions, celebrating at the annual ‘Wool Fair’, held on the Spring Bank Holiday. Other noteworthy events are the Shipston Proms, held in June and July, and the Shipston Midsummer Festival.
